American Organ Music
Anglo-American organ music is the main focus of Christoph Hintermüller. This music, especially of the 19th century, has been completely forgotten in Europe today. Many renowned American composers, such as Dudley Buck, John Knowless Paine and Eugene Thayer, studied in Germany and were revered for their virtuosic and outstanding playing. Hintermüller illuminates this forgotten epoch and the organ works of that time. Many works are based on patriotic themes such as "The Star Spangled Banner", the German national anthems and "God save the queen". You will be amazed at the diverse and imaginative way in which the composers have processed these themes.
